Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University Women's Soccer team, winners of two straight matches, opens Colonial Athletic Association play Thursday night when it hosts Towson University at 7 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.

The Pride is 6-3 after completing the non-conference portion of the schedule with a 1-0 win over Stony Brook this past Sunday. The Pride is coming off a 2017 season that saw the team go undefeated in CAA play (9-0) and win the CAA Championship. Â
Jenn Buoncore leads the Pride with eight points on two goals and four assists.
Jordan Littleboy (one goal, three assists),
Lucy Porter (two goals, one assist), and
Sabrina Bryan (two goals, one assist) are next with five points each.
Jenna Borresen (0.33 GAA, six saves) and
Ashley Wilson (1.56 GAA, 21 saves) have shared time in goal.

Towson is 3-6-1 on the season and is coming off a 1-0 loss against Penn this past Sunday. But the Tigers have won three of their last four games. Justine Stoner leads Towson's offense with 11 points (five goals, one assist). Nikki Logan (one goal, two assists) and Evelyn Neidert (two goals) are tied for second with four points each. Megan Collins has played all 10 games and has a 1.71 goals against average and 43 saves.Â

Hofstra has dominated the all-time series with Towson, posting a 21-2-1 mark. The Pride has won six consecutive games in the series.

Following Thursday's game, Hofstra hits the road for a Sunday matinee (1 p.m.) at James Madison. The Dukes are 3-6 entering CAA play at Drexel Thursday night, but have won two consecutive contests. James Madison leads the all-time series with Hofstra, 10-8-3.Â
