9/12/2018 12:29:00 PM

Hempstead, New York – The Hofstra University Women's Soccer team plays its final two non-conference matches of the season this week when it plays at Columbia Thursday night and then hosts Stony Brook in "The Long Island Rivalry", presented by the Greene Turtle, on Sunday.

Hofstra is 4-3 on the season and split a pair of contests last week, winning 2-1 in overtime at Fairleigh Dickinson before dropping a 2-1 decision at #23 Princeton. Sabrina Bryan had a strong offensive week with a pair of goals, while Lucy Shepherd netted the game winner at FDU.

The Pride travels to Manhattan Thursday night for a 6 p.m. meeting with the Lions. Hofstra and Columbia have met 13 times in the past with the Pride holding a 7-4-2 advantage in the series. Hofstra is 2-0-1 in the last three meetings with the teams playing to a 1-1 draw last season at Columbia. The Lions are currently 3-2-1 on the season.

Following the Columbia game, which is the last of five consecutive road tilts, Hofstra returns to face its Long Island rival in Stony Brook at Hofstra Soccer Stadium. Hofstra is 10-3 all-time versus the Seawolves and has won eight consecutive meetings dating back to 1999. Stony Brook is 3-4 but play tonight at Iona.

The match at Columbia will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required). There will also be live stats available. Links for both can be found on this page or on the women's soccer schedule page of GoHofstra.com
