Hofstra (21-15, 10-8 CAA) picked up its seventh straight win and swept a CAA series for the second consecutive weekend. William & Mary fell to 15-29 overall and 3-15 in league action.

Hofstra jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning as Foster led off with a triple and scored on Mikey Riesner's single. Parker Quinn would double in Riesner and then, after Rob Weissheier reached on an error, Costello blasted a three-run home run to right field.

The Tribe got a run back in the second as Patrick Ryan delivered an RBI double. The scored remained 5-1 until the sixth when Tyler White drove in Daniel Page with a double to make it a 6-1 game in favor of the Pride.

William & Mary scored a pair of runs in the eighth on Jordan Waldman's home run to make it a 6-3 game. But Hofstra added some breathing room in the ninth as Friscia drove in a pair of runs with a single and Weissheier added a third run with an RBI single.

The runs proved crucial as the Tribe scored three times in the bottom of the ninth to make it interesting. Brandon Raquet hit a solo home run and Hunter Smith closed the scoring with a two run shot.
