Wappingers Falls, NY - Hofstra erupted for a season-high 15 runs as 10 different players collected hits in a 15-4 rout of Manhattan Tuesday night at Dutchess Stadium. Hofstra avenged an earlier season loss to the Jaspers with the win.
The Pride, which extended its winning streak to four games, improved to 18-15 on the season. The Jaspers fell to 20-20 on the year.
The Pride scored three times in the first inning and then broke the game open with a five-run third.
Parker Quinn had a three-run double and
Daniel Page added a two-run home run in the inning. That was plenty of support for starter
Seamus Brazill, who allowed one run on four hits over five innings to even his record at 2-2.
Quinn finished with two hits on the night, as did
Tyler White and
Mikey Riesner.
Austin Gauthier had a pair of runs and RBIs, while Riesner, Page and
Vito Friscia each scored a pair of runs.
Matt Jones (0-1) took the loss for Manhattan after allowing four runs on four hits in two innings of work. Brendan Bissett paced the Jaspers offense with three hits out of the leadoff spot.
Hofstra is back in action Friday when it opens a three-game Colonial Athletic Association series at William & Mary. Game time is 6 p.m.

-Hofstra avenged a 12-4 loss to Manhattan on April 4.
-The home run was Page's second of the season.
-Hofstra's previous high in runs was 14 at Monmouth on March 27.
-Friscia extended his hitting streak to seven games.
-Hofstra is now 25-14 all-time versus Manhattan.
