Hofstra fell to 14-12 on the season and 4-6 in CAA play. It was the Pride's third consecutive loss. Elon moved to 18-16 overall and 5-5 in league action.

In what was a matchup of two of the top pitchers in the CAA, Elon's Kyle Brnovich held up his end of the bargain as well. The nation's leader in strikeouts allowed a run on two hits with 12 strikeouts.
