Justin Wright-Foreman tallied a game-high 28 points to lead four Pride players in double-figures as Hofstra held off a late Saints rally to post a 94-86 victory over Siena at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex Wednesday night. Hofstra improved to 4-3 on the season while Siena dropped its fourth consecutive game to fall to 2-5 on the year.
Wright-Foreman recorded the 64th double-figure scoring game of his career and the seventh this season on 12 of 19 shooting. Junior

Tareq Coburn posted a career-high 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. The Pride scored a season-high 94 points while shooting 54% from the field and 86% (25-29) from the charity stripe.
Siena had four players in double-figures led by freshman Jalen Pickett with 27 points and 13 assists. Senior Evan Fisher added 25 points, freshman Sloan Seymour posted 13 points and senior Kevin Degnan chipped in with 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds. The Saints shot 52% (32-59) from the field and 13 of 21 (62%) from the foul line.
In a first half that featured some sizzling shooting, especially in the first 12 minutes, the teams were tied at 23-all for the fourth time in the period on a basket by Fisher at the 10:38 mark. Hofstra responded with six unanswered points as part of a 9-2 run with Coburn's three-pointer giving the Pride a 32-25 lead with 7:53 to play. After Fisher hit a jumper to close the deficit to five, Hofstra went on an 8-2 run behind four points each from Wright-Foreman and Ray to open their biggest lead of the half at 40-29 with 4:14 to play in the period. The Saints closed the half with an 8-5 spurt to close the gap to 45-37 at the break. Fisher's tip at the buzzer gave him 14 for the half as the Saints hit on 52% of their shots while Wright-Foreman led the Pride, who shot 53%, with 11 points.
Siena made two mild runs getting as close at five on two occasions, the latest at 50-45 after a Fisher three-pointer at the 18:08 mark. But the Pride tallied six straight points as part of a 16-5 run with Pemberton's two free throws giving Hofstra a 66-50 lead with 12:02 to play. The Pride extended the lead to 20 points twice, the latest at 79-59 after two free throws by Coburn with 7:47 to play before the Saints made a late move.
Siena went on a 16-2 run over the next 4:36 to close to within six at 81-75 after Seymour's three-pointer with 3:11 to play. The Saints got one point closer at 85-80 after another three-pointer by Seymour with 1:10 remaining. But the Pride made nine of 10 free throws in the final 53 seconds, including four by Buie, to seal the 94-86 victory.
Hofstra is back in action on Saturday when the Pride travel to Georgia to face the Owls of Kennesaw State at 2 p.m.
Notes
- Wednesday's contest was the ninth meeting between the Pride and the Saints. Hofstra leads the series, 6-3.
- Wright-Foreman, who entered the game as the fifth-ranked scorer in Division I averaging 27.9 points per game, recorded his 60th consecutive game in double-figures. It is the second-longest streak in the nation.
- Coburn recorded his first double-double with the 12 points and 14 rebounds both which were career-highs.
