Hempstead, NY - Hofstra freshman Aisha Skinner has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon. 

It is the third time Skinner has earned the award this season as she previously was recognized on August 27 and September 3. In addition, Hofstra has won a total of five CAA Rookie of the Week awards this season as Maddie Appleton has earned a pair of honors in recent weeks. 

It was another outstanding week for Skinner as she led Hofstra in kills with 37 and finished second on the team with 24 digs. She also added four blocks, a service ace and hit .329 for the week. 

In the Pride's first match of the week, Skinner established a new career-high with 18 kills in the big four-set win over Charleston. She hit a strong .394 in the match, while also adding eight digs and two blocks. 

She would follow that up with arguably the best match of her young career on Sunday as she once again had a career-high with 19 kills, while also adding 16 digs and two blocks. The dig total was one off her season-high and the double-double was her sixth of the season. 

For the week she averaged 4.11 kills per set, 2.67 digs per set and 0.44 blocks per set.
