New York, NY - Sam Hatem scored two goals for Columbia as the Lions posted a 4-0 victory over visiting Hofstra Tuesday night at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium. The game was the regular season finale for the Pride, which will host a Colonial Athletic Association Quarterfinal game Tuesday night at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
Hofstra fell to 8-6-4 on the season, while Columbia improved to 9-4-1.
The Lions scored three first half goals with Hatem getting Columbia on the board just 2:49 into the contest. Hatem would net his second of the game at 26:06 with Matthew Swain collecting the assist. The first half scoring continued at the 37:23 mark as Lucho Gazcon found the back of the net off a pass from Beto Carrillo. The score would remain 3-0 until 83:13 when Spiros Stamoulis converted Nick Marcin's pass.
Dylan Castanheira made four saves for the Lions while
Leo Arkhanhelskyi had four saves for the Pride.
Hofstra will be the No. 3 seed in the CAA Championship and host No. 6 Northeastern Saturday night at 7 p.m.
