MGOLF: Hofstra Closes Out Fall Season With Eighth Place Finish

West Orange, NJ - Alec Aronson tied for 11th-place and helped Hofstra tie for eighth place at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship at Montclair Golf Club Monday.
 
Hofstra had a second round 305 (+25) to finish with a two-day score of 608 (+48), tying with Sacred Heart in the 15-team field. Saint Peter's won the team title with a 583 (+23) following rounds of 283 (+3) and 300 (+20). Villanova was second at 597 (+37).
 
Aronson was Hofstra's top finisher after carding rounds of 74 9+4) and 75 (+5) for a 149 (+9). Michael Terblanche was the Pride's next scorer, tying for 15th at 150 (+10) with rounds of 74 (+4) and 76 (+6). Eric Shelly was tied for 45th in the 90-player field at 156 (+16) with scores of 77 (+7) and 79 (+9). Tim Hall tied for 65th at 161 (+21) but rebounded form a first round 86 (+16) to shoot a 75 (+5) on Monday. Kenyon Kautz rounded out the scoring entry for the Pride with a 163 (+23) to tie for 70th-place. Kautz had a 78 (+8) and 85 (+15). Sean Haselton, who played as an individual entrant, tied for 84th place at 166 (+26) following scores of 82 (+12) and 84 (+14). 
 
Connor Daly of Villanova took home the individual title with a 142 (+2) after consecutive rounds of 71. David Powers of Saint Peter's was second, one shot back. 
 
The Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship concluded the fall season for the Pride.
