Newark, DE – The Hofstra Field Hockey team concluded their 2018 season with a 6-0 Colonial Athletic Association loss against the 16th-ranked Blue Hens of Delaware at Fred P. Rullo Stadium Sunday afternoon.
The Pride finished the season with a 5-13 overall mark and 2-4 in the CAA. Hofstra finished in a three-way tie for fourth-place and the final spot in the next week's CAA Championship Tournament. After the third tie-breaking criteria, James Madison gets the final tournament spot based on their even conference goal differential. Delaware, which captured the CAA regular season title, improved to 12-6 overall and a perfect 6-0 in conference play for the third consecutive season.
The Blue Hens scored twice in the first half and four times in the second half. Senior Greta Nauck tallied three goals and two assist and took nine shots in the game for Delaware. The Blue Hens outshot the Pride, 25-0 and took 12 penalty corners to Hofstra's one.

Betty Bosma made 12 saves, including eight in the second half, in the Pride goal. Three UD goalies protected the Blue Hens shutout.
