Hempstead, NY - Hofstra freshman Aisha Skinner was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week, it was announced today. 

This marks the fourth time this season that Skinner has earned the award as she previously received the honor on August 27, September 3 and October 8. 

Skinner had another strong week for Hofstra as she totaled 40 kills, 30 digs and eight blocks in helping Hofstra to a strong 2-1 week in Colonial Athletic Association play. The Pride is now 17-7 overall and 7-3 in league play. 

On Wednesday, she had 11 kills and 14 digs for her eighth double-double of the season as the Pride swept the road match at Northeastern. 

In the contest against Towson on Friday, Skinner tied her career-high with 19 kills and added nine digs. 

On Sunday, In the big win over James Madison, Skinner tallied 10 kills, seven digs and seven blocks. The seven blocks marked a new season-high for the rookie, who previously had six at Temple on August 25. 

This season, Skinner ranks second on the team in kills and digs with 297 and 228, respectively.
