Sophia Masciarelli finished 60
th to lead the Pride to a 22
nd-place finish at the Princeton Invitational Friday evening. Four of the five Hofstra runners posted season-best 6K times.
Masciarelli posted a time of 22:50 in the 6K race to take 60
th place. It was her best 6K time of her young career. Senior
Felicia Banda finished in 86
th place in 23:09 while senior
Alli Bacher also posted a season-best 6K time of 26:19 to finish in 213
th place. Sophomore
Megan Boese was the third Pride runner to post a season-best in a time of 26:25 for 215
th place and junior
Kaylee Stebbins clocked a time of 27:28 in her first 6K race of the year to place 220
th.
The Pride finished with 587 points in the 22-team field. In the final team standings, Villanova finished first with 21 points with Columbia second with 38 points and Temple was third with 107 points. Caroline Alcorta from Villanova was the individual champion in 20:23
The Pride return to action on Friday, October 26 when Hofstra hosts the Colonial Athletic Association Championship at Bethpage State Park. Race time is 10 a.m.
