Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Pride Field Hockey team concluded its six-game homestand with a 5-0 loss to the 21st-ranked Hawks of Saint Joseph's University at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium Friday evening.
The Pride, who saw their two-game winning streak stopped, are now 5-6 on the season as they head into the Colonial Athletic Association schedule next Friday at 18th-ranked William and Mary. The Hawks of Saint Joseph's, who won their fourth consecutive game, are 7-2 on the season.
Hofstra, which was looking to wrap-up their six-game home stay with a 4-2 mark with a win on Friday, fell behind 1-0 at the 20:33 mark off a penalty corner goal by junior Anna Willocks with assists by classmate Monica Tice and freshman Jordan Olenginski. The half ended that way with the Hawks outshooting the Pride, 8-6 and Hofstra goalie

Saint Joseph's added another penalty corner goal 9:03 into the second half with Willocks scoring and Tice and freshman Emily Henry assisting. Freshman Emily Peters, Tice and sophomore Kayla Walker would add goals in the 12-minute span later in the half to secure the victory.
While penalty corners were even in the contest at 5-5, Hofstra was outshot in the contest, 15-10. Swan finished with six saves while Pride senior
