East Meadow, NY - Larissa Stergiou and Ana Sofia Rodriguez each won their respective matches, but Hofstra fell to LIU Brooklyn by a 3-2 score in a match play event at Eisenhower Park Thursday afternoon.
Stergiou defeated Carolina Ronchel, 1 Up, in a matchup of each team's top scorers. LIU Brooklyn's Lauren Rutherglen defeated the Pride's
Amanda Bigger at the No. 2 position, 3 and 2. Hofstra picked up its last victory f the match at the No. 3 position as Rodriguez earned a 5 and 4 win over Rebeca Pardos.
Aida Gonzalez won by a 5 and 4 score over
Shannon Haselton at the No. 4 match and Sara Ciliberto picked up a win over Hofstra's Katie Krahulik at No. 5, 3 and 2.
Hofstra will return to action in March 2018 as today's event was the last of the fall season for the Pride.
