MSOC: Hofstra Tops Delaware For First CAA Win

Hempstead, N.Y. – The Hofstra Men's Soccer team earned its first Colonial Athletic Association win of the season, topping Delaware, 1-0, at Hofstra Soccer Stadium on Saturday night.

The Pride (2-4-6, 1-0-4 CAA) remains unbeaten in conference play after playing to draws in its first four league games. Delaware dropped to 5-4-2 and 2-2-1 in CAA play.

Sophomore Oscar Ramsay's first career goal was the difference-maker, as classmate Luke Brown tried to cross in a pass that a Delaware defender deflected out right to Ramsay, who buried it in the upper right corner in the 61st minute.

Delaware had a chance early in the first half, with Noa Benninga sending in a shot from midfield that dropped in behind Hofstra goalkeeper Alex Ashton, but bounced off the crossbar and stayed out.

The Pride is back in action on Wednesday, continuing CAA play at Drexel at 7 p.m.

Notes:
-Hofstra outshot Delaware, 10-6, and allowed just one shot on goal from the Blue Hens.
