Hempstead, NY – Sophomore
Laura Masciullo posted a double-double with match-highs of 15 kills and 11 digs to lead the Hofstra Volleyball team to a three-set sweep of Elon on Friday evening at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center.
Hofstra, which won by set scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-19, improves to 12-7 overall and 4-1 in Colonial Athletic Association play with its fourth straight victory. Elon slips to 13-7 and 2-3 in the league ledger.
A tight first set saw the Phoenix leading 13-11 before Hofstra used an 8-1 run to make it 19-14 and the Pride would never look back as they easily dismissed of their conference opponent in straight sets. Sophomore setter
Luisa Sydlik had 34 assists and five digs, while senior
Doris Bogoje chipped in with eight kills, five blocks and three digs.
The Pride return to action for a busy week tomorrow when it hosts William & Mary at 7 p.m.

- Hofstra is now 7-0 all-time against Elon.
- This is Hofstra's second four-match win streak of the season as they previously won four in a row from September 9-16.
- The double-double was Masciullo's third of the season.
