Box Score Towson, Md. – The Hofstra Women's Soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Towson on Thursday afternoon at the Tiger Soccer Complex to stay undefeated in Colonial Athletic Association play.
The Pride (9-3-2, 5-0-0 CAA) has now won six straight and is unbeaten in its past eight games. Towson dropped to 4-8-2 and 1-3 in CAA play.
Hofstra scored three goals for the second straight game and once again got them from three different goal scorers. Sophomore Maya Watkins put away her first of the season with eight seconds left in the first half to give the Pride a 1-0 lead. Junior Madeline Anderson sent in a free kick from past the midfield line, which sophomore Rachel Cardinal tapped to Watkins in the box for Cardinal's first career point.
Senior Kristin Desmond extended her goal-scoring streak to four straight games, beating the Towson goalkeeper with a high shot on the near side in the 66th minute. Freshman Bella Richards capped the win with her first career goal in the 83rd minute on senior Ashley Batista's first Hofstra assist.
The Pride continues CAA play on Sunday, hosting James Madison at 1 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.

-This is Hofstra's longest win streak since stringing together 18 straight victories in 2010.
-The Pride dominated in shots, outshooting the Tigers, 27-7.
-Hofstra has allowed just two goals in its past eight games.
-Richards has four points in her past two games after posting a pair of assists against William & Mary.
-Desmond leads the Pride with nine goals and 19 points, both career highs for her.
