Hempstead, NY – The 2017-18 Hofstra Wrestling season will kick off in a big way on Sunday, October 29 when Pride Coach Dennis Papadatos and his team host an outstanding day of wrestling at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.

A clinic, for wrestlers of all ages, featuring former Hofstra Head Coach and current Ohio State University Head Coach Tom Ryan and Buckeye senior NCAA champion and Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder kicks off the day at 11 a.m.

Ryan and Snyder will be joined by members of the Hofstra wrestling team during the clinic. The clinic fee is $40 with all proceeds going to benefit the Hofstra Wrestling program, in memory of Teague Ryan. Following the clinic with Snyder, an Olympic, World and two-time NCAA Champion, and Ryan, who led the Buckeyes to the 2015 NCAA Division I Championship, the Hofstra Wrestling program will conduct its annual Wrestle-Offs for possible spots in the Pride's starting line-up when the regular season begins on November 5 against Franklin & Marshall at the Mack Sports Complex.

After the wrestle-offs from 4-6 p.m., there will be a meet and greet with Ryan and the Hofstra coaching staff at The Savoy Tavern at 16 Merrick Avenue in Merrick, New York. The fee for the buffet and open bar is $100 per person with a $1,000 VIP Package available that includes the clinic, the meet and greet at the Savoy and exclusive Mack Sports Complex suite access with Tom Ryan during the Hofstra Wrestle-offs.
