Hempstead, NY - Laura Masciullo had 11 kills and Luisa Sydlik added 31 assists but Towson was able to post a 3-0 win over Hofstra Friday night in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center. Set scores were 25-23, 26-24 and 25-18.

The Tigers improved to 22-3 on the season and 8-3 in the CAA. Hofstra slipped to 14-11 overall and 6-5 in league action.

Hofstra took a 7-0 lead in the first set but the Tigers would rally to tie the set at 13. The teams battled neck-and-neck with the final tie at 22 before Towson posted three of the last four points to take the 25-23 win. The second set featured 15 tie scores, the last at 24-24. But Towson picked up the final two kills of the set to take a 26-24 win. The third set was also hotly contested until the visitors scored the final five points to take the 25-18 victory.

Olivia Finckel had a match high 14 kills for the Tigers to go along with three blocks. Annie Ertz added eight kills and nine digs.

Hofstra will return to action Sunday in its final home match of the season versus Delaware. The Senior Day match will start at 1 p.m.

Notes:
-Masciullo, who has double-figure kills in 18 matches this season, also added nine digs.
-Sydlik, who also had nine digs, has had double-digit assists in all 25 matches this season.
-Sanne Maring had six blocks, one off her season high.
-Hofstra is now 43-16 all-time versus Towson.
