Williamsburg, Va. – The Hofstra Men's Soccer team fell to William & Mary, 2-0, on Saturday night at Martin Family Stadium.
The loss was the Pride's first Colonial Athletic Association blemish of the season, dropping Hofstra to 3-5-6 overall and 2-1-4 in conference play. The preseason-favorite Tribe improved to 7-4-3 and 3-2-2 in CAA action.
The Tribe got ahead in the first half, with Marcel Berry heading in a goal in the 28th minute. Hofstra goalkeeper
Alex Ashton made a handful of key saves early in the second half to keep it a one-goal game, but William & Mary got past him again in the 65th minute to take the 2-0 win.
The Pride has a full week off before its next contest when it will host No. 15 UNCW on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. at Hofstra Soccer Stadium.
