Ana Sofia Rodriguez tied for 24th and
Larissa Stergiou tied for 27th to lead Hofstra to a 10th-place finish at the Hartford Hawks Invitational Sunday at Gillete Ridge Golf Club. The Pride posted a team score of 691 (+115).
Rodriguez, playing in the second tournament of her Hofstra career, shot rounds of 83 (+11) and 81 (+9) for a total score of 164 (+20). Stergiou, a graduate student in her first year at Hofstra, was one stroke behind at 165 (+21) after rounds of 77 (+5) and 88 (+16).
Amanda Bigger placed 45th in the 68-player field at 176 (+32). The Pride senior had rounds of 92 (+20) and 84 (+12). Classmate
Shannon Haselton placed 58th at 193 (+49), shooting rounds of 91 (+19) and 102 (+30). Junior
Katie Krahulik was 59th at 194 (+50) after carding rounds of 99 (+27) and 95 (+23).
Quinnipiac won the 13-team tournament with a score of 622 (+46), one stroke ahead of Brown. Sacred Heart was third at 627 (+51). Chelsea Sedlar of Sacred Heart was the individual medalist at 149 (+5), two shots better than Quinnipiac's Julia Kemmling.
Hofstra returns to action Thursday when it hosts St. Francis Brooklyn in match play at the Eisenhower Park White Course. Tee-off is set for 3 p.m.
