Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Volleyball team had arguably its most complete effort of the season as the Pride easily roared past American in the squad's final non-conference match of the season at the David S. Mack Fitness Center on Saturday afternoon.
Hofstra won by scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-23 to improve to 10-3 this season. The win was the Pride's fourth straight. American falls to 9-6 with the loss. The Eagles went 28-7 last season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
It was another solid effort out of freshman

Hannah Klemm posted 35 assists and seven digs in the match and now ranks third all-time at Hofstra in assists.
Hofstra dominated in the first set to the tune of a 13-point victory as the Pride committed only one error on 43 attempts for a .326 attack percentage. The Pride held American to a zero attack percentage and Masciullo led the way with six kills for Hofstra.
The Pride looked to be in trouble in the second set, falling behind 6-1 early on before using a 9-3 run to take a 10-9 lead following a service ace from sophomore
Nanishka Perez. Hofstra would never trail again in the set with senior
Veronika Kostova ending the stanza and putting the Pride ahead two sets to none. Kostova led the way in that set with four kills.
Hofstra completed the sweep with a two-point win in the third and final stanza. Kostova and Masciullo each had five kills in the set to lead the way offensively.
