Laura Masciullo posted a match-high 14 kills and added 13 digs and three blocks to lead the Hofstra Volleyball team to a convincing sweep of Elon on Sunday afternoon at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center.
Set scores were 25-18, 25-17 and 25-20.
The win was the Pride's fifth straight and improves Hofstra's record to 15-5 and 5-2 in Colonial Athletic Association action. Elon slips to 15-7 and 2-4 in league play.
The double-double was the fourth of the season for Masciullo, who was assisted by six kills, six blocks and a pair of service aces from graduate
Semen Sen. Senior
Hannah Klemm dished out 25 assists and added six digs for the Pride as well.
Hofstra continued its strong offensive showing as of late as the Pride hit at a .333 clip in silencing the Phoenix.
The first set would be the Pride's best as they had 15 kills on 31 attempts with only two errors for a .419 attack percentage. They would keep the pressure on as the match progressed, including hitting .323 in the second stanza, while holding Elon to a .067 attack percentage in the second set.
Sophomore
Nanishka Perez added nine kills and five digs for the Pride, which also got seven kills and four blocks from sophomore
Michela Rucli.
Sydney Busa had 10 kills and four digs for Elon, which also got 21 assists, four digs and three kills from Sydel Curry.
Hofstra is back in action next Saturday when it travels to Northeastern for a 4 p.m. match against the Huskies.

- Hofstra improved to 5-0 all-time against Elon.
- This is Hofstra's first five-match win streak since winning five in a row from September 23 – October 3, 2015.
- Hofstra has won nine straight sets. It is the program's longest streak in terms of consecutive sets won since winning 18 sets in a row from September 3 – September 13, 2014.
