VB: Hofstra Drops Road Decision At Northeastern

Boston, MA – Graduate Semen Sen and freshman Laura Masciullo each posted 10 kills for the Pride, but it wasn't enough as the Hofstra Volleyball team fell in three sets to Northeastern on Saturday afternoon at the Cabot Center.

The loss ended a five-match win streak for Hofstra, which fell to 15-6 and 5-3 in Colonial Athletic Association play. Northeastern improved to 17-5 and 7-1 in league action.

The opening set was the closest of the match as both teams were solid offensively with Hofstra hitting at a .343 clip and Northeastern hitting .316 as the Huskies pulled out a close three-point win.

In the second set, Northeastern used a 5-0 scoring run to break a 10-all tie as they would go on for the dominating victory.

Northeastern was never seriously challenged in the final set of the match as they pulled away for the win to end the Pride's longest win streak of the season.

Senior Hannah Klemm had 28 assists and four digs for the Pride, while sophomore Luisa Domingues posted a team-high 12 digs.

Jamie Bredahl led Northeastern with 14 kills, while Kristen Walding had 36 assists and five digs.

Hofstra will stay on the road for two more matches as next weekend the Pride will travel to William & Mary on Friday before closing the weekend with a match at James Madison on Sunday.

NOTES
- Hofstra is now 38-12 all-time against Northeastern. Hofstra swept the season series last year and had won five straight over the Huskies before today's loss.
- The 10 kills by Sen marked a new season-high as she previously had six on a pair of occasions, last vs. Elon on October 9.
