Following a come-from-behind 68-64 win at UNCW on Friday, Hofstra is in a first-place tie in the CAA with a 3-1 start and a 12-3 overall record. Junior guard Kelly Loftus' 13.7 points-per-game average leads the team and was boosted by a 21-point effort against the Seahawks that marked the fourth time the Alexandria, Virginia native has cracked the 20-point mark this season.

Sophomore forward Ashunae Durant also tied a career high by notching 21 points against the Seahawks. The Newark, New Jersey product is averaging nearly a double-double by scoring 12.1 points and posting a CAA-leading 9.7 rebounds. Durant and Loftus were the first Hofstra teammates to each score 20 points in the same game since Anma Onyeuku and Annie Payton accomplished the feat in 2014.

Senior guard Darius Faulk is one of four Hofstra players to start every game this season, joining Durant, Loftus and junior guard Krystal Luciano. Faulk scored half of her 10 total points in the final two minutes at UNCW to swing the balance and turn a deficit into a victory. Her key steal and coast-to-coast layup, followed by a defensive rebound and a three-point play, ensured Hofstra's first victory in the three times the Pride has trailed with two minutes to go in regulation.

William & Mary is coming off a 69-68 road overtime loss at Northeastern on Friday. Three players squared in double figures for the Tribe, which led the contest for 27:55 as Alexandra Masaquel scored 15 points on 7-of-12 shooting. The Tribe has now lost two consecutive games after winning three straight, including the CAA opener against defending league-champion James Madison.

The Tribe entered the week with the league's third-best scoring defense at 58.3 points allowed per game. Hofstra had the CAA's stingiest mark at 56.1 points, pitting two of the league's best defenses against each other. William & Mary also entered as the league's most efficient shooting team. The Tribe was the only squad in the 10-team league to shoot better than 40 percent from the field, coming in at 40.5 percent. The Tribe and Pride are both 1-2 in the league in steals and are ranked first and third, respectively, in total assists.

Hofstra is 25-9-1 in the all-time series against William & Mary, including two wins in three games last season. The Pride bested the Tribe, 64-51, in the CAA Championship quarterfinals in Upper Marlboro in the previous meeting. Hofstra has won 12 of the last 13 meetings dating to 2009-10, including a 3-0 record in that span in the CAA Tournament.

Hofstra has historically been successful at home. Since the 2008-09 season, Hofstra is 69-32 on its own court. Hofstra is 5-0 at home this season. Head Coach Krista Kilburn-Steveskey's squad is out-scoring teams by 14.4 points-per-game at home. The familiar rims have helped the Pride post a 10.4 rebounds-per-game differential. At home, Hofstra has not allowed a team to crack the 70-point threshold.
