Angelica Peck posted the seventh-best 5K time in school history to lead the Hofstra Women's Cross Country team to a 13th-place finish in the 2015 University of Virginia Panorama Farms Invitational Saturday.
Peck recorded a time of 18:27.4 to place 46th in the meet. The time equaled Mary Sullivan's time at the Hofstra Invitational in 2006, which is the seventh-best 5K time in school history.
Senior
Becky Celorio was the Pride's second runner clocking a time of 18:47 to place 58th. It was the third-best 5K time of her career and ranks 19th on the all-time Hofstra charts.
Freshman
Felicia Banda posted a time of 19:12.1 to finish 71st while sophomore
Emily McLean was 105th in 20:35. Freshman
Alli Bacher placed 1110th in 20:48 and sophomore
Amanda Sullivan was 115th in 21:05. Freshman
Mahlah Givehand rounded out the Hofstra field, placing 119th in 21:18.
The Pride finished 13th as a team with 348 points. The host Cavaliers of Virginia won the team championship with 30 points. Mississippi State was second with 83 points and Auburn was third with 106 points. Senior Iona Lake from Virginia was the individual champion, winning the race in 16:49.5.
Hofstra returns to action on October 16 at the Brown University Rothenberg Run at Goddard State Park in Rhode Island.
