Angelica Peck finished in 53rd place to lead the Hofstra Women's Cross Country team at the 5K Manhattan College Brother Jasper Cross Country Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park Friday afternoon.
Peck, a native of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania who graduated from Syracuse University, clocked a time of 20:22.2 to lead three Hofstra runners within six-tenths of a second of each other. Freshman
Felicia Banda posted a time of 20:22.5 to finish 54th for the Pride while senior
Becky Celorio was the third Pride runner, posting a time of 20:22.8 for 55th place.

Emily McLean was Hofstra's fourth runner in 20:29 for 56th place while freshman Marlah Givehand was 64th in 20:49.7.Classmate

Irene Garidas was 71st in 21:51.5 and classmate
Amanda Sullivan was 72nd in 21:55. Sophomore
Megan Tidey was 76th in 22:23.7 to round out the Hofstra team.
In the meet recorded as duals, the Pride recorded a 1-4 record, defeating Southern Connecticut State (21-40) and losing to Army West Point (16-42), Columbia (15-50), Cornell (15-50) and the host Jaspers of Manhattan (15-50).
Cornell junior Taylor Spillane was the top individual, posting a time of 17:46.9 to record a 21-second advantage over second-place teammate Caroline Kellner.
Hofstra returns to action on September 26 at the University of Virginia Panorama Farms Invitational in Earlysville, Virginia. Race time is 10:00 a.m.
