MGOLF: Hofstra Places Fifth At Towson

Grasonville, MD - Hofstra had two top-20 individual finishers and finished fifth as a team at the 23-team Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational at Prospect Bay Country Club.
Hofstra shot a final round 308 (+24) to finish with a two-round 622 (+54).

Brandon Shin was the Pride's top finisher at 151 (+9) after a final round 75 (+4). Shin tied for 11th in the 120-player field. David Won fired a 77 (+6) and tied for 17th at 153 (+11). David Mecca tied for 23rd at 155 (+13) following a final round 76 (+5). Sean Cavanaugh tied for 67th at 163 (+21) and had a final round 80 (+9). Jonathan Farber tied for 100th at 171 (+29) and cut nine strokes off his first round with a final round 81 (+10).

Arkansas won the team title at 589 (+21), 16 strokes better than first round leader William & Mary. Seton Hall's Lloyd Jeffer Go won individual medalist honors at 143 (+1) after shooting a 70 (-1) Sunday.

Hofstra is back in action this coming Sunday and Monday at the Lafayette College Invitational in Hellertown, PA.
