Fairfield, CT – Senior attacker
Brittain Altomare continued her scorching start to the 2015 campaign as she had four goals and an assist to lead the Hofstra Women's Lacrosse team to a commanding 9-5 victory over Fairfield on Tuesday afternoon.
Altomare added a career-best eight draw controls.
The win improves Hofstra's record to 2-0 this season, while Fairfield falls to 1-1. The Pride is now 11-1 all-time against the Stags and have won three straight against Fairfield.
Altomare opened the season with an eight-point showing (four goals, four assists) in the Pride's season-opening win over New Hampshire.
Junior midfielder
Becky Conto had a pair of goals for the Pride to assist in the winning effort, while senior defender
April Iannetta had three caused turnovers, three ground balls, two draw controls and a goal.
Senior goalie
Kelsey Gregerson had five saves in net for Hofstra.
Sophomore attacker
Tiana Parrella got Hofstra on the board first at the 28:11 mark and after Fairfield knotted the score at one, the Pride got three straight goals from Altomare to open up a 4-1 advantage at the break.
Goals from Brenna Connolly and Maeve Quinn of Fairfield to open the second half would close the gap to 4-3 with 14:43 left in the second stanza, but Hofstra responded almost immediately.
Conto got on the board to push it to 5-3 just 25 seconds later and Altomare's fourth tally of the contest would make it 6-3 at the 8:58 mark.

Junior defender
Shelby Milne and Gregerson both added a pair of ground balls for the Pride, while junior midfielder
Lindsey Alfano chipped in with an assist, a ground ball and a draw control.
Quinn had two goals for Fairfield and Alex Fehmel dished out a pair of assists. Meghan Reda had three caused turnovers and two ground balls for the Stags, while Chelsey Sidaras made seven saves.
Hofstra will look for its third win of the season on Saturday when it travels to Harvard for a 12 p.m. contest.
