Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Men's basketball team will play its second straight home game to open the 2015-16 season on Monday when the Pride host Molloy College at 7 p.m. from the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
Molloy, a NCAA Division II school located in Rockville Centre, New York, is a member of the East Coast Conference. The Lions have a pair of games this weekend before facing the Pride on Monday. This will be the first-ever meeting between Hofstra and Molloy in men's basketball. The Lions finished the 2014-15 season with a record of 16-13.

There will be Pride Productions live video of the game with links available on this page or via the men's basketball schedule page at GoHofstra.com. The Pride Productions audio only broadcast can also be heard via the portal and also on WGCH (1490 AM) and the WRHU mobile app.
Hofstra opened up the season with a come-from-behind victory as the Pride trailed by as many as 18 in the first half before eventually earning a double-digit 96-85 win over Canisius on Friday.
It was a record-setting night for junior guard
Brian Bernardi as the Staten Island, New York native drained a single-game school-record eight three pointers en route to career-high tying 26 points. The eight three-pointers broke the previous record of seven, set seven times. Zeke Upshaw achieved it most recently, doing it twice during the 2013-14 campaign.
The offensive explosion by the Pride was significant as well as it marked the most points Hofstra has scored in a season opener against a Division I program since tallying 97 in a 104-97 loss to New Hampshire on November 27, 1994. That game was the first in the head coaching career of Jay Wright. Hofstra did score 102 against Farmingdale State (102-62) on November 13, 2010. Farmingdale State is a Division III program.
With Friday's win, Hofstra has now won its season opener in four of the last six years.
Following this game Hofstra heads on the road for arguably the most exciting portion of their non-conference schedule as the Pride will participate in the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Hofstra opens with Florida State on November 20 at 3:30 p.m. in a game that will be televised nationally by the CBS Sports Network.
