Hempstead, NY – Hofstra junior Becky Celorio placed third in the Division I meet and junior Lisa Eberwein and senior Eva Holtermann placed in the top 15 to lead the Hofstra Women's Cross Country team to a third-place finish at the 2014 St. John's University/Hofstra University Fall Festival in Oakdale, NY Sunday.

Celorio (Scotia, NY) posted a time of 19:29 in the 5K race to finish third in the four-team Division I meet and fifth overall in the 11-school meet. Eberwein (Coatesville, PA) posted a time of 20:48 to finish 19th overall while Holtermann (Staten Island, NY) was on her heels in 20th place in 20:48.9.

Red-shirt freshman Emily McLean (Jaffrey, NH) clocked a time of 21:10.9 to finish 25th overall while freshman Patty Romano (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY) was 41st in 22:33. Freshman Kristen Politi (Wantagh, NY) placed 42nd in 22:36 to round out the Pride line-up.

As a team, Hofstra placed third in the four-team Division I race with 59 points. Seton Hall won the Division I team title with 30 points while St. John's was second with 41 points. New Jersey Institute of Technology finished in fourth place with 111 points.

The Pride return to action next Saturday, September 13 at the LIU Post Invitational in Brookville, NY. Race time is 10:30 a.m.
