MGOLF: Hofstra 13th After Two Rounds At Doc Gimmler

Farmingdale, NY - David Mecca shot rounds of 74 (+4) and 67 (-3) for a 141 (+1), and is tied for 18th after two rounds of the Doc Gimmler Tournament hosted by St. John's University at the Bethpage Red Course.

Hofstra is 13th in the 14-team field with a two-round score of 587 (+27). The Pride had rounds of 295 (+15) and 292 (+12). Hofstra is 36 strokes behind team leader Yale, which posted a two-round 551 (-9). Army is second with a 553 (-7).

Following Mecca, Hofstra's Brandon Shin is tied for 44th at 146 (+6) after rounds of 74 (+4) and 72 (+2). David Won is tied for 57th in the 75-player field with a 148 (+8) following scores of 71 (+1) and 77 (+7). Sean Cavanaugh shot back-to-back 76's (+6) and is in 69th place at 152 (+12). Jonathan Farber is 72nd after recording two rounds of 77 (+7) for a 154 (+14).

Matt Oshrine of Loyola (MD) holds the individual lead with a 129 (-11) following rounds of 64 (-6) and 65 (-5). He holds a five sroke lead over Kai Rastetter of St. Thomas Aquinas, who shot 134 (-6) following rounds of 73 (+3) and 61 (-9).

Final round action gets underway at 7 a.m., but Hofstra will begin teeing off at 10 a.m.
