MGOLF: Won Wins At Jasper Shootout

Huntington, NY - Hofstra sophomore David Won picked up his first career victory as helped the Pride to the team victory at the Jasper Shootout hosted by Manhattan College at the Huntington Country Club.

Won shot a 69 (-1) and was the only golfer under par as he finished three strokes ahead of Manhattan's Mike Schutsky.

Hofstra won the four-team event with a 293 (+13). The Jaspers finished second at 304 (+24) followed by Wagner at 315 (+35). St. Francis Brooklyn was fourth at 369 (+89).

The Pride placed all five of its student-athletes in the top 10. Sean Cavanaugh was third 73 (+3), while Brandon Shin tied for fifth at 75 (+5). David Mecca was ninth at 76 (+6) and Jonathan Farber was tied for 10th at 77 (+7).

The team win marked the second consecutive year that the Pride has won the Jasper Shootout.

The Jasper Shootout marked the end of the fall season for the Pride. The team will resume its schedule in March 2015.
