Kelsie Wills led all players with 16 kills and added six digs. Sophomore setter
Hannah Klemm posted a match-high 41 assists and also had nine digs and three blocks in the contest.
With the loss, Hofstra falls to 19-3 and 7-1 in league play. The 10-match win streak was the sixth-longest in program history. James Madison improved to 12-9 and 4-4 in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action.

Identical to the first set, James Madison would once again use a 5-1 spurt to break a 12-all tie and a service ace from Martha Stewart put the Dukes ahead 17-13. After Hofstra closed the gap to three at 17-14, on a kill from senior outside hitter
Emily Burke, James Madison scored seven straight points to take a commanding 24-14 lead.
The third set was the most competitive of the contest as it featured 17 tie scores and nine lead changes and would not be decided until "extra time". Both squads had multiple opportunities to put the set away as the Pride had its first at 25-24 before a JMU kill knotted the score. A kill from sophomore middle blocker
Veronika Kostova would give Hofstra its final set point at 29-28, but the Dukes closed the set with three straight points to hand Hofstra its first three-set loss of the season.
