Williamsburg, VA - Second seeded UNCW won all four completed singles matches and claimed the doubles point as well in a 5-0 victory over Hofstra in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship at the Millie West Tennis Facility.

The Seahawks opened doubles play with a 8-0 win at second doubles as Angie Sekeley and Alyssa Ritchie defeated Malissa Gilanchi and Bianca Derrick. The team of Kelly Cameron and Miller Hales downed Paige Polizois and Louise Lopez, 8-2, at third doubles to give UNCW the doubles point.

UNCW Olga Blank picked up the first singles win for the Seahawks with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Gilanchi at the third flight. Ritchie followed with a #4 singles victory over Lopez, 6-0, 6-3. Christine Kharkevich then picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win over Polizois at sixth singles and Cameron clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Derrick at fifth singles.

Both Sarah Bowen and Sonia Tsay had their matches stopped in progress.

The loss ends Hofstra's season at 7-9.
