Hempstead, NY - Hofstra and Albany split the six singles matches, but Hofstra took the doubles point in a 4-3 win over Albany Saturday at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Center.

The Pride evened their record at 7-7 with the win, while Albany slipped to 7-11.

Seniors Malissa Gilanchi and Paige Polizois won their singles matches in their final home appearance of their career. Gilanchi defeated Cheryl Kukkonen, 6-1, 6-2, at third singles. Polizois won 6-2, 6-4 over Sarah Iannone at sixth singles.

Louise Lopez had Hofstra's other singles win, a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Cat Crummey at fourth singles.

Sarah Bowen and Sonia Tsay, who was also playing her final match, won at first doubles over Iannone and Rocia Lopez Alberca, 9-8. Gilanchi and Bianca Derrick defeated Mireille Hermans and Kukkonen, 8-2, at second doubles.
