Hempstead, NY – Former Hofstra University men's basketball player Mike Moore was selected in the fourth round of the NBA Development League by the Erie Bayhawks.
Erie, an affiliate of the New York Knicks, selected Moore with the eighth pick in the fourth round.
Moore played two seasons at Hofstra after transferring from Fordham following his sophomore campaign.
Despite playing just two seasons in a Hofstra uniform, Moore ranks 25th in program history with 1,128 career points as he averaged 19.9 points per game in his senior season of 2011-12 after scoring 14.9 per contest in 2010-11. A very strong three-point shooter, Moore drained 143 during his Hofstra career to rank ninth all-time.
In total during his 121 game collegiate career, Moore scored 1,641 career points and drilled 209 three-pointers, including his two seasons at Fordham.
Moore started all 65 games he played in at Hofstra and added 325 rebounds, 147 assists and 87 steals. During his senior season he led the Colonial Athletic Association in scoring with the 19.9 average, which ranked 17th in the NCAA. Moore had a career-high 32 points against Binghamton on December 17, 2011, and in that game he tied the Hofstra record for three-pointers in a game with seven.
