MTEN: Pride Fall To Bryant At Home, 5-2

Hempstead, NY - The Pride swept all three doubles matches but won just singles match as the Bryant Bulldogs defeated Hofstra, 5-2 at the Hofstra Tennis Center Saturday afternoon. The Pride fell to 5-12 on the season.

Hofstra earned the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead in the match as Antonio Pena and Matthew Gemmell defeated Nolan Gelman and Connor Crowley, 8-4, at second doubles; Chris Damion and Adrien Bailly downed Hart Callahan and Cristian Balestrieri, 8-2, at first doubles; and Ben Thompson-Star and Jason Sinkoff defeated Nicolai Hill and Dan Cournoyer, 8-3, at third doubles.

But the Bulldogs won the first four singles matches as Nolan Gelman knocked off Matt Gemmell, 6-2, 6-1 at fourth singles; Cristian Balestrieri defeated Antonio Pena, 6-2, 6-1, at first singles; Connor Crowley downed Jason Sinkoff, 6-3, 6-2, at sixth singles; and Dana Parziale defeated Ben Thompson-Star, 6-3, 6-2 at third singles to secure the win. Hofstra's Chris Damion followed with a three-set win over Hart Callahan before Bryant's Nick Hill knocked off Adrien Bailly in three sets at fifth singles.

Hofstra returns to action on Tuesday, April 12 when they travel east on the Long Island Expressway to face the Seawolves of Stony Brook at 2 p.m.
