Hempstead, NY - Hofstra Men's Golf Coach Joe Elliott
announced today that freshman Paul Bruckner
has been named team captain.
"As a golf coach and a P.G.A. Professional, I realize that the captain of any team is the lifeblood of a good program," said Elliott. "Paul understands what it takes to succeed and be a leader, and his greatest quality is his willingness to be coached. I believe that Paul will prove to be a great captain for our program and his values, will to win, commitment to the game and integrity will help push Hofstra Golf to the next level."
Bruckner, a native of Alpharetta, Georgia, played eight rounds during the fall 2010 season and leads the team in scoring average at 74.4 strokes per round.
Hofstra resumes its schedule this Friday and Saturday, March 18-19, at the George Washington Invitational in Bethany Beach, Delaware.
