Hempstead, NY - Tom Pecora resigned as the head men's basketball coach at Hofstra University to take a similar position at Fordham University.

"Over the past sixteen years, Tom Pecora has played a significant role in the growth of the Hofstra University basketball program, first as an assistant coach and then as the head coach," said Director of Athletics Jack Hayes. "Tom has been an excellent coach, a mentor to student-athletes and athletic staff members, and an outstanding ambassador for our University. We wish him well at Fordham, and we will begin the search for a replacement immediately."

Pecora served as an assistant at Hofstra under current Villanova head coach Jay Wright for seven years, before becoming the head coach for the past nine seasons. He compiled a 155-126 record in his nine years at the Pride helm, including three straight Postseason NIT appearances from 2005-07.
