HOFSTRA DEFEATED BY FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON

Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra Men's Tennis team lost a 6-1 decision to Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday in a match that took place at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York.

Hofstra's record falls to 1-1 this season with the loss.

Doubles saw a pair of tight matches as freshmen Jon Disley and Josh Levinson dropped a narrow 8-6 decision to Peter Skuarka and Marco Jemersic of FDU at first doubles, while junior Jason Sinkoff and freshman Chris Damion lost a tough 9-7 match to Sven Toedts and Ted Segerfors.

Hofstra picked up its lone win in the match at third singles as junior Ben Thompson-Star defeated Mark Hemy, 0-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Hofstra returns to action on October 1 when they travel to the Sergio Tacchani Collegiate Invitational in Norfolk, Virginia.  The tournament will run through October 4.
