Senior defender Sue Weber (Islip, NY) was named to the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) first team, and junior goalie Krystal Robens (Taunton, MA - pictured) was named to the third team.
Weber was named to the first team after helping the Long Island Fury to a 9-2-2 record and a berth in the WPSL quarterfinals. A year ago, Weber helped the Fury to the WPSL championship, assisting on the game-winning goal in the title game.
Robens, meanwhile, earned WPSL third team honors after helping the Massachusetts Stingers to a 6-4 record. She led a Stingers defense which allowed 14 goals in 10 games.
Weber became the first All-American in the history of the Hofstra Women's Soccer honors in 2005, when she helped Hofstra to the Colonial Athletic Association championship and its first-ever berth in the NCAA Division I Tournament. She is a two-time CAA Defensive Player of the Year and was also named the CAA Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2006. She has played every minute of every game for the Pride in the last two seasons since transferring from Georgia after her freshman season.
Robens began her Hofstra career as a walk-on field player in 2004, but redshirted in 2005 as she converted to a goalkeeper position. She split time in net last year with freshman Krysten Farriella (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY), finishing with a 1.46 goals against average and a .776 save percentage.
