Hofstra Associate Women's Soccer Coach Simon Riddiough served as an assistant coach for the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association's Girls South Under-16 team, which captured the United States Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (ODP) national championship in Plano, Texas on Sunday, March 13.

The title marked the first time that an Eastern New York team had ever won an ODP national championship. Riddiough's squad captured the title with a 1-0 win over Washington in the final on Sunday.

Riddiough is a former player on the Hofstra Men's Soccer team, who has served as an assistant for the women's soccer program for the past nine years. He has also served as a coach for the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association since 2000.

As a player, Riddiough won four letters with the Pride and was a first team All-New York Region selection as a junior and senior in 1993 and 1994. As a coach with the women's program, he has helped the Pride reach 10 wins in seven of the last eight seasons, including back-to-back Colonial Athletic Association regular season championships in 2003 and 2004. The Pride has a combined 39-14-7 record over the last three years.
