MGOLF: Shin Places 22nd At Charleston Shootout

Hollywood, SC - Brandon Shin fired rounds of 70 (-2) and 75 (+3) Tuesday to finish with a three-round score of 224 (+8) and tied for 22nd at the Charleston Shootout at the Links at Stono Ferry.

Hofstra placed 12th in the 12-team field with a score of 969 (+105)

Jake Winn was Hofstra's next highest finisher, as the junior tied for 60th at 236 (+20) after rounds of 77 (+5) and 81 (+9) Tuesday. David Mecca placed 75th in the 84-player field with a 250 (+34) after carding an 81 (+9) and 84 (+12) Tuesday. Jonathan Farber shot an 86 (+14) and an 85 (+13) during his second and third rounds to tie for 79th at 259 (+43). Luke Smith was 82nd at 272 (+56) after scoring 90 (+18) and 92 (+20) Tuesday. Greg MacPherson golfed as an individual entrant and placed 83rd at 301 (+85) after back-to-back 100's (+28) on Tuesday.

USC Upstate won the team title at 381 (+17). There was a three-way tie for first place individually between the College of Charleston's John Duke Hudson, Clemson's Hayden Garrett and Coastal Carolina's Easton Renwick at 216 (E).

Hofstra is back in action March 24 and 25 at the La Salle Invitational in Ambler, PA.
