Steven Klosterman, one of the most decorated players in UCLA Volleyball history, is in his eighth season as an assistant coach at Hofstra in 2026.
With Klosterman on staff, Hofstra has won 111 matches, including at least 15 in the seven non-COVID-shortened seasons.
In 2025, Klosterman was part of a staff that helped lead Hofstra to 22 wins, a CAA regular season title, an appearance in the CAA Championship match, and four student-athletes earning conference postseason honors.
Klosterman has extensive club volleyball coaching experience, most recently serving as a lead technical coach and trainer for the Chicago Bounce Volleyball Club. Since 2013, he has also worked with the Huntington Beach Volleyball Club as both a head coach and assistant coach. While at HBC he coached Josh Tuiniga and TJ DeFalco, both of whom later earned AVCA Player of the Year honors and earned national titles at Long Beach State.
Klosterman’s first collegiate coaching experience came when he worked as a volunteer assistant coach with the Loyola Chicago women’s team and UCLA men’s team.
Klosterman was a two-time All-American at UCLA during a career which spanned from 2003 to 2007. The MVP of the 2006 National Championship that UCLA captured, Klosterman holds the program’s rally-scoring era record for career kills with 1,513.
Klosterman played professionally from 2007 to 2014 in Puerto Rico, France, Finland, Egypt, Qatar, Vietnam and Czech Republic.
