Garvey Pierre, a long time collegiate head coach, is in his second year with the Hofstra volleyball program and his first as the video coordinator.
Pierre served as the head coach at Siena College in Loudonville, New York, from 2003-2017 and was the head coach at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York, from 1995-2003.
Garvey’s highly-successful stint at Siena saw the Saints win 227 matches during his time there and advance to the NCAA Tournament in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2014. Five student-athletes developed into MAAC Offensive Players of the Year under Garvey and the program was lauded for its strong academics by receiving the NCAA Public Recognition Award three times.
A four-time conference coach of the year and two-time region coach of the year at Mercy, Pierre won more than 75% of his matches during his eight seasons with the Mavericks.
Pierre is a graduate of Quebec University (BA) and Mercy (BS).
