Christian Velasco is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Hofstra volleyball program in 2021.
Velasco has extensive experience at the club and high school level coaching volleyball, including most recently serving as a head coach with Club Ace Long Island. He has worked with CALI since 2017 and coached numerous teams for the club program.
Velasco previously served as a junior varsity volleyball coach at Herrick High School in New Hyde Park, New York, and as an assistant coach with the varsity team at Elmont Memorial High School in Elmont, NY.
He has also worked at a multitude of volleyball camps and clinics.
A 2016 graduate of SUNY Cortland with a degree in physical education, Velasco has worked as a physical education teacher at Francis Lewis High School in Fresh Meadows, NY, since 2017. During his time as an undergraduate, he served as the president of the club volleyball team.
