Skylar Collins joined the Hofstra Women's Basketball staff as Director of Women's Basketball Operations in September 2018.
Collins comes to Hofstra after five seasons at Mississippi State where she served as video coordinator/director of scouting for the Bulldogs. She was responsible for obtaining and coding scout film, recording and organizing all games and practices for the coaching staff and the planning, preparation, scheduling and execution of the summer sports camp.
Collins, who earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 2011 and a master’s degree in sports management in 2014 from Texas A&M University, was a four-year member of the Aggies’ women’s basketball program that played in four NCAA Tournaments including two Sweet Sixteen appearances and a national title in 2011. She earned Big 12 All-Academic Team honors in 2009-10, 2010 Chick-fil-A Big 12 Community of Champions honors in 2010, the Texas A&M Miss Hustle Award in 2011 and 2012, the 2012 Texas A&M 6th Man Award and the 2012 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Athlete of the Year Award.
Collins, who previously worked as a women’s basketball camp counselor from 2008 through 2012 and as a ticket sales representative for the 12th Man Foundation in 2012 at Texas A&M, played professionally in Brazil for the Sport Club Do Recife which won the Liga Basquete de Feminino title in 2012-13.
