Robert DiMonda

Hired in July of 2007, Bobby DiMonda serves as an assistant athletic trainer and oversees all sports medicine needs for the Hofstra Men's Lacrosse and Men's and Women's Golf programs. He has previously worked with the Pride Women's Lacrosse, Field Hockey, Women's Basketball and Football programs. 

During DiMonda’s tenure at Hofstra, he has been responsible for the inventory & budget of the sports medicine department, management of electronical medical records and on campus doctor’s clinic for the Sports Medicine department. He is the Athletic Department's CPR-AED & First Aid Instructor.

DiMonda is also an adjunct professor and preceptor in the School of Health Professions and Human Services. 

A 2005 graduate of Canisius College, DiMonda majored in health and human performance with a concentration in athletic training. He earned his Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Sports Psychology from Ithaca College in 2007 and was a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the Cornell University Sprint Football and Men’s Lacrosse teams while earning his degree from Ithaca.

While an undergraduate at Canisius, DiMonda assisted in the athletic training for the men’s ice hockey, women’s lacrosse and the 2004 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) champion women’s basketball team. He also worked with the Buffalo State football team during his time at Canisius.

DiMonda is involved with local sports medicine and athletic training committees, giving lectures and discussions on emergency management, assessment, clinical practice, and educational topics. He is a Certified NYS EMT-B, Firefighter, Certified Instructor in Red Cross, American Heart, and Emergency Care Safety Institute BLS, CPR-AED, First Aid and Professional Rescuer.

A native of West Hempstead, NY, DiMonda resides in North Merrick with his wife, Amanda, and their 3 children Sophie, Robert and Meredith.
