PJ Bjorneby is in his third season in 2025 as the coordinator of lacrosse analytics and external operations for the men's and women's lacrosse programs at Hofstra.
In this role, Bjorneby assists the men’s and women’s lacrosse programs in a variety of ways, including practice and game analytics and coordination of off-campus travel and events.
Bjorneby is also an adjunct professor in the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra, a member of the Zarb School Dean’s Advisory Board and the faculty advisor for the Student Managed Investment Fund.
Bjorneby has had an extensive and highly-successful career in the investment banking sector, helping companies raise more than $50 billion in capital in both the debt and equity markets. He got his career started at Chase Manhattan Bank (now J.P. Morgan), where he was in a leadership and management development program from 1996 to 1999. Bjorneby would then spend the 12 years with Barclays (formerly Lehman Brothers) as a managing director in the Equity Capital Markets group, focused on the energy and utility sectors. Most recently, he spent nearly five years at Bank of America Securities in a similar role, and prior to that, two years at UBS Securities as a managing director, head of natural resources, chemicals and utilities Equity Capital Markets.
Bjorneby played three years of lacrosse at Hofstra from 1992 to 1995. He was part of the 1993 squad that advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals and all three teams he was part of finished the season ranked in the top 20.
Bjorneby earned his bachelor of business administration in finance and banking from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra in 1996. He received his master’s of business administration in corporate finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2001.
An avid health and wellness enthusiast, Bjorneby has completed seven marathons and multiple sprint triathlons.
Bjorneby and his wife, Mara, have two children - Maya and Leah.
